Church Programs

Small Group Studies
No matter what the age, we want people to come to know God and allow His Word to mold their lives. In order to help people understand God’s will deeper we offer several different small groups. A small group is general somewhere between 6 and 15 people who have an open discussion class.

Seniors Small Group
Our seniors (age 50 and above) get together for a Bible study twice a month here at the church building. It is a great way for you to study the Bible with people of similar age and get to know others within the church family. The class is normally held on Monday mornings. Sometimes after class several will have lunch at a local restaurant.

Young Adults
This group of young adults in their twenties and thirties meets the first Saturday of each month. It generally is a social event where group games are played. Baby-sitting is provided for their children at the host home.

Ladies’ Studies
We have two ladies’ studies. One meets every Thursday morning and one the first and third Tuesday evening.

Home/Correspondence Bible Studies
Not only do we offer small group studies, but we also realize that each person or family needs to come to a better understanding of the Bible. Therefore we have many individual Bible studies.

We offer opportunities for you to grow spiritually by studying the Bible with someone in your home or at some place of convenience. This is a great way to ask questions, obtain a deeper understanding about our church and beliefs, or to study the Bible with a desire to understand God’s will for your life more completely. These personal studies are conducted by our minister or other members of our congregation.

If you cannot find the time or desire to study with someone, we also offer Bible studies through the mail. You do them at your leisure, send in the answer sheet, and the next lesson will be mailed to you. There are eight lessons in this course and its goal is to help you be able to understand the Bible, its divisions (like the Old and New Testament), timelines as to events taking place, basic understand of doctrinal and salvation issues.

Food Pantry
Our church works with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank to offer grocery assistance to local residents with low income. We serve over 100 families each month. This community help is one way we can share our love with our neighbors while meeting a few of their physical needs.

Internet
You can find us on the web at www.whitehallchurchofchrist.com, and there you can read or listen to current sermon, request a free sermon cassette tape, read the weekly bulletin, make a prayer request, or read our statement of faith. It is a great introduction to our church and a way to simply “check us out.”

Missions
The church financially supports mission works in Madagascar, Ukraine, and India, as well as a children’s home in Ohio and a disaster relief effort based out of Tennessee. There are other mission works that we support on a more limited basis. We believe that God’s kingdom is far greater than just our four walls. We want to share in that greater body.

Youth Programs

We encourage you to participate in one of the four Whitehall Church of Christ youth programs. Each program is designed to help children grow spiritually and socially.

Heavenly Halos
(Ages 2 through Pre-K)
All of their activities require at least one parent or adult to help supervise.

Joy Bunch
(Kindergarten through grade 4)
They do lots of crafts and activities.

SonSeekers
(Grades 5 through 8)
As these kids grow, so do their activities. They have Bible games, social times, and begin to develop a more spiritual atmosphere where they can grow closer to God.

Teens
(Grades 9 through 12)
These young people travel to youth rallies, have a weekly small group Bible study, and participate in many other activities.

Cost
Almost all activities are offered to the children without any cost to the parent. There are enough costs for parents, but this is not one of them.
