The Sunday Morning sermons will all come from the book of Acts.  As we walk through the early church we will see the work of the Holy Spirit and how we as a church today are to take up the call and actions as these Christians did 2000 years ago.  Get ready to be challenged and motivated as dig into God’s Word each Sunday morning.

Here are sermons for February that cover both the morning worship (10:30) and the evening worship (6:00)

Feb. 12

AM – What’s Mine Is Yours (Acts 4:32-35)

This reading sets the stage for us to consider both Barnabas and Ananias and Sapphira.  What we see in these two examples helps us to understand our text.  Are we really willing to share with “no strings attached?”

PM – What is Tithing? (Numb. 18:21-32)

The word means “tenth.”  It was commanded by God under the Mosaic Law, but what about Christians?  Should we teach and practice tithing today?

Feb. 19

AM – Persecution Escalates (Acts 5:27-33)

The warning was given with the crippled man, but now it is time for more action.  Just like with Jesus, the desired goal of the Sanhedrin is to kill the apostles.  One man among them stands up and speaks about God at work.  Will they listen?

PM – Our Daily Bread (Ex. 16)

I’m hungry and I am going to die!  It was so much better in Egypt where we had meat pots and ate bread to the full.  Jesus prayed, “give us this day our daily bread.”  So what is the connection between the two?

Feb. 26

AM – Servant Leaders (Acts 6:1-7)

Today we talk about Deacons who serve the church while the elders spiritually lead the congregation.  Before Elders and Deacons were Apostles and Servants.  What do we see from these original two groups?

PM – Lifted Up, Look Up (Lev. 21:4-9)

The complained and God sent venomous snakes.  When bitten, the people died.  They cried out in repentance and God had Moses make a bronze snake wrapped around a pole.  When they looked at the snake after being bitten they would live.
